The collection contains a reprint of article titled "An American Remembers Oxford" from the January number of The Sewanee Review, 1929, with an inscription to President Alderman on cover, and a letter of gratitude to Alderman who served as chair of the selection committee that appointed Davis a Rhodes scholar. The collection also contains a clipping, 1935 Mar 6, announcing Davis' lecture at Smith Memorial Library at Randolph Macon Women's College on "Collecting a Library." The collection also contains a Duke University Press announcement of the publication of Davis' "Folk-Songs of Virginia: A Descriptive Index and Classification." In addition there is a homemade sign on an index card, undated, "Notice Please do not throw cigarette butts under this door. A.K.D., Jr."
